A) Overview of the agency; purpose/mission: Juvenile Services Department (JSD) provides a continuum of comprehensive service to arrested and at-risk juveniles and their families. JSD is designed to address the root causes of juvenile crime and prevent further delinquent behavior. Law enforcement and social services to work together to provide a complete range of services for both at-risk youth and youth involved with the Juvenile Justice System. JSDS increase public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency through effective prevention and treatment services that strengthen families to turn around the lives of troubled youth in Miami-Dade County. B) Population being served: Miami-Dade County Juvenile Services Department serves youths who are at risk or involved in the Juvenile Justice System 18 years of age and younger.
